Tips for writing a cover letter:
Before you start:
- Typed letters are preferred over handwritten ones.
- Use a clear font.
- Address the letter to the correct person, including their job title. If unsure, ask your consultant.
- Include the date and a subject line (e.g., Re: Application for Matron Position or Job Application Reference Number).
Paragraph-by-paragraph guide:
- Keep your letter to five paragraphs or less.
- Start with expressing your interest in the position and briefly explain why you're a good fit for the role.
- Describe your relevant experience and how your skills apply to the job.
- Conclude by emphasising your suitability for the position and express enthusiasm about joining the team.
